We are Jan & Curt Smith....you may have seen us at shows across the United States.  In recent years we have been participating in shows of the Rocky Mountain and Pacific Northwest Region.  Curt has had an interest in rocks and fossils since he was 6 years old.  His surveying job of 30 years has brought us to many great rock collecting places across the country and over the years we have collected many specimens as we traveled.  Jan has gained her knowledge of rocks and fossils since she met Curt in the mid 1970's.  Jewelry became a fun thing to do as we traveled and then a good friend encouraged us to start showing our rock products at shows while we traveled.  We have now been participating in shows for over 20 years and have had a great time sharing our knowledge of minerals and fossils with all who come by to see us.

Jan loves making unique jewelry pieces.  It is a "fun" day to lay out the beautiful beads and start creating jewelry sets and other fun pieces of art to wear.  It has also been an enjoyable hobby incorporating the beautiful translucent stones into stained glass pieces and Jan creates colorful "suncatchers", stepping stones, windows and lampshades.  Jan's jewelry business started the "Jazwear" name and the other part of our business name came from our customers as they recognized us at shows as "The Rock People".  We appreciate the recognition and incorporated it into our name.  Thank you, our customers!

We have a great product line, gemstone jewelry, rough rocks and minerals, polished and carved stones and fossils, stained glass with stone and many other great pieces, all having to do with the beautiful things that Mother Nature gives to us.  We both work with the stone we have in our "rock pile" and for those pieces that we cannot find ourselves, we trade for with our friends in the rock and fossil business.  This way, we can offer a great variety of products to our customers.  Our mineral and fossil "collection" is extensive and for those of you who cannot make it to see us at a show and for our show customers who want to see "more", we hope that these web pages will let you see the products that we have to offer.  Hopefully someday you will be able to come see us at one of the shows and see our full product line.  In the meantime, enjoy exploring through the pages of the "Jazwear" website and if we can be of any assistance, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your requests.  We will be updating the pages on a regular basis, so please keep coming back to see what "new" things we have.
