Lapis Lazuli, the original blue gemstone, is a rock composed principally of the mineral lazurite with variable amounts of pyrite (the brassy flecks) and white calcite.  The intrinsic blue color of lazurite is caused by sulfur, an interesting and unusual case where a non-metallic element yields a strong color.  Denim Lapis is a paler blue of the same mineral.  The clay beads are hand made and fired with a complimenting burnt reddish color.

A deep blue 1" Lapis Lazuli polished stone is enhanced with 6mm Denim Lapis and 8mm handmade clay beads to make up this beautiful 3 piece jewelry set.  It will look great with casual wear and other fun outfits.  Antique silver pewter beads separate all the gemstone beads.  The necklace is 18", bracelet 7" and earrings 1.5" long and with hypo allergenic ear wires.
